3M™ RFID Electronic Marking System (EMS)

marker ball

RFID Marker Ball

A simple, cost effective method for marking all of your underground assets. Passive RFID tag technology means no onboard battery is required. The 4" diameter ball marker has a unique, patented self-levelling feature that ensures an accurate, horizontal tag position (and therefore 'reading') regardless of how it is placed in the ground. Readable up to 1.2m depth. Marker Balls are recommended for use in open excavations.

RFID Near Surface Marker

RFID Near Surface Marker

The near-surface marker is ideal for marking without actual excavation. At 3" long, its cylindrical size and shape allows for easy installation through asphalt, without extensive digging or drilling. Readable up to 0.6m depth. Near Surface Markers are recommended for non-invasive surveys or for offset marking in the pavement close to excavations in busy streets.

3M™ Dynatel™ Locator

3M™ Dynatel™ Locator

Transmits an Radio Frequency (RF) signal to the buried marker. The locator uses both visual meter and audible signals to guide the operator accurately to the location above an RFID marker, and will then "read" the marker's identity. The locator has a built-in interface to the GPS device, which uses this information.

U-Track software from Trac-ID

U-Track software from Trac-ID

Easy to use software that when used with compatible a PDA device allows GPS coordinates, photographs and asset data to be captured in a format prescribed by the National Underground Asset Group (NUAG). The basic software can be downloaded by users for free. The U-Track software communicates with the national database, both uploading the record and accessing the record at future site visits.

Exor Spatial Database

Exor Spatial Database

Intelligent Trench data is held together in one place on an infinitely scalable, spatial web-based service. Basic record information can be uploaded and accessed for free, enabling works to be better planned before visiting the site.

Non invasive surveys

Non invasive surveys

An alternative to invasive “exploratory digs”, Infotec Virtual Trialholes are non-invasive surveys which avoid excavation, thereby reducing disruption, cost or delays associated with physical excavation. Each Virtual Trialhole results in a CAD drawing, mapped and linked to a small Near Surface Marker located in the pavement adjacent to the area of study, available for future reference on the same Intelligent Trench database.
