2 types of marker are available depending on the job being carried out and the stage. Marker balls are recommended for actual placement inside the excavation, alternatively for non-invasive surveys a near surface marker can be used as an accurate geo-referenced datum for the survey drawing. Please see our How it Works section for step by step instructions.
If you choose Infotec as your survey specialist they will include this as part of their scope of works. Please visit the Infotec website for more information.
We recommend one ball marker is used very 10 metres.
We recommend a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 but a maximum file size of 1Mb to enable acceptable download speeds. We recommend taking two photographs, one to show the excavation in detail and the other to show adjacent landmarks for future orientation. Photographs should be taken in the direction of traffic flow.
Please see our How it Works pages for step by step instructions for different scenarios.
Minimum horizontal separation between markers is recommended to be equal to the depth of the deepest marker.
The Intelligent Trench service is initially being offered for England Scotland and Wales.
