Who do I buy markers from?

Please visit the 3M website for more information on 3M markers, or visit our where to buy section to learn who can provide you with the overall Intelligent Trench solution including GPS device, software installation and training.

3M RFID markers and locators are also available from any authorised 3M distributor, who will provide you with a quotation.

What are the volume discounts?

Your authorised 3M distributor can provide you with a quotation for markers. If you wish to discuss more detailed requirements please choose an appropriate contact from our where to buy page.

Who do I buy the GPS hardware from?

3M authorised distributors will normally sell markers but not GPS devices. Please see our where to buy page for a selection of partners who are also able to sell GPS devices.

There is no additional charge for the use of the Trac-ID standard field data collection software or Intelligent Trench dataset access however users will need to agree an End User License Agreement with these companies and these companies who may also offer more advanced but chargeable services on request. Non-invasive surveys (including marker installation and data upload to the Intelligent Trench database) are available from specialist survey consultants Infotec. How much does it cost?

There is no charge for basic level access of data stored (individual record search & access). Data can be collected by either non-invasive surveys techniques or open excavations. Non-invasive surveys are available from survey specials, such as Infotec who will store the survey results on the Intelligent Trench database as part of their services for future reference or sharing. Please visit the Infotec website for a quotation.

For open excavations, a single 3M RFID marker will need to be purchased for each excavation area. The RRP for a 3M Dynatel™ RFID marker ball is £15 each. Users may also require a 3M Dynatel™ locator and a compatible GPS device, please visit our where to buy section for more information.
